The PHP each() funtion is used to loop through an array. You must reset the array to the start using reset().

PHP each() example:

<?php
$fruit = array("Apple", "Orange", "Peach", "Pear");

reset($fruit );

while (list($key, $value) = each($fruit)){
echo "$key => $value";
}

Peeing on the mounds is said to work too. You can also try amonia, vinegar or moth balls to get rid of moles.

I got a call today from someone who works for "Windows". It sounded like a long distance call from India.

When I asked what company he was from, he told me MSIT Expert. I knew this was a scam. He told me that they had reports of problems with my computer. I went along with him as I wanted to see how they opperated.

He had me right click on "my computer" and bring up the windows log file. In there were a few errors (nothing to worry about). He told me these were viruses! Yeah right.

Anyway. I asked him how to fix it and was passed on to a second person. This person then told me that I had to qrite a cheque! They could not take cards - I wonder why. At this point I blew up and gave them hell. They wanted me to pay for someone to put malicious software onto my computer, telling me that I had all sorts of viruses etc.

Beware!

Edit: This was in the UK. The site was registered in mid 2010 so they have probably been at this for a few months now.

The Rollabind system is great for flexible notebooks but impossible to purchase from a UK reseller which means high postage costs from the USA.

An alternative is the ADOC system which is European and do A4 and A5 sizes. I found a place that sells them in the UK here:

http://www.pegasusnational.com/stationery-products-category.php?Category=4

I have yet to get my delivery having only just ordered but it look promising after giving them a call, they seemed genuine.

Rollabind is a neat way of having a notepad or organiser that folds 360 degrees and yet you can still swap out the pages. It is a good alternative to the Filofax system which for me is just too clumbsy. They also seem to have a monopoly on paper organisers in the UK.

It is odd wanting a paper and pen organiser when I love all things digital but there is no comparison. The DPI on paper is increadable. The readability is way better than digital ink. The battery life is astounding (I have yet to see a bit of paper run out of power!), and it is always on, so no long boot time.

Of course there is no web conectivity, but I get that in other devices.

That reminds me - If you are after a digital notebook that does just that then google eee note. It is just a big LCD screen you can take notes on and looks quite promising.

As a fantasy book, one would think that everything comes from the mind and no research is required. This is wrong. Before even powering up the word processor, I spent a couple of months just thinking and researching ideas.

I had a ood old paper notebook and pen, and wrote all my ideas down.

I wrote a basic plot, followed by notes on the characters. I created a basic fantasy world with a basic map. All basic but fundamental to getting started, and knowing that it would flow freely, not having to stop too often to think about what is and what is not.

For the last fifteen years I have been thinking about writing a novel. I took so long, not because I am slow or lazy but because I was not ready.

I did not have the life experience to create in depth characters or the vocabulary to paint a picture with words.

Last year I wrote a short story. I love to write, and the story was fun to write. It went down well and was published in a small publication. I later read it and quite enjoyed it. I found that I was ready.

For the last siz months I have been writing and I thought I would share the experience with the world.

This is how I hide my email addresses from spambots. It is not 100% safe but will throw most systems off and so far it has been 100% reliable.

In order to stop spammers from getting your email address you need to make the address illegible to the robots they use to harvest them. This bit of javascript will do just that and still render a good email address on the website:

http://www.futtock.co.uk/javascript-hide-email-address/

It breaks down your email address and then puts it back together again when the page is shown to the human eye.

Simply swap out the variables, id, dom, and tag.

id is your email username (in johndoe@example.com it would be johndoe).

dom is the second level domain name that comes after the @ symbol in the address.

tag is the top level domain name such as com or org or co.uk

PHP Explode - How to split a string into an array by using a sub string as the separator.

Explode("seperator","string")

Example:

$array = explode("-", "Hello-Planet-Earth");

The importance of a good vocabulary cannot be underestimated. Not only does it open up a whole world of reading but also a whole world of opportunities with the respect you will earn with the proper use of words.

1.Reading
There are many ways to improve vocabulary but the best is to read every day and be sure to look up those words you do not understand using a good dictionary. There are many free dictionaries online but http://www.wiktionary.com is a great one.
When you find a new word be sure to look it up, also find out where the word came from. Often words are derived from Latin or Greek words and knowing the original word helps get a clearer picture of its meaning and use.
Also use the word in sentences a few times until you are happy that you fully understand the word, otherwise you will quickly forget the word.

2.Word Games
Play word games. They are more fun than they sound and always improve one’s vocabulary. Just google “free words games”. Remember to look the word up!

3.Write Words Down
Always write words down that you hear and later look them up. Not only will you improve your vocabulary but you will notice a sense of relief when you do so at the end of the day. Each word we hear but do not understand piles up and can get oddly heavy. Clearing up those words removes this weight.

Learn more words!

Just uploaded it to Wordpress Themes for distribution. It was not allowed because it did not support Gravatars, but the theme uses the built default comments fields which do support gravatar.

I solved it by copying the "defualt" theme's comments.php page and that fixed it.

Mango Fire on "Wordpress Microposts For Page Section Content"

Wordpress is great as a CMS and one way to make sections of a custom template editable is to use seperate posts for each section of the page.

To do this use the following code for the section you want to make editable:

<?PHP
$queried_post = get_post('XX');
echo wpautop($queried_post->post_content);
?>

The number XX is the ID of the post. You need to create a post and make a note of the post ID and replace XX with this.

You also need to make the post Private so that it does not show up on any blog pages.
